I Never Cared for Dean's Politics,
But He's Not Afraid to Call it SOCIALISM

While this blog title resembles another blog, it's actually Latin for "The Unknown Advocate." Times being what they are, I've separated my personal and political musings. This anonymous forum is dedicated primarily to civil discourse of politics, "CHANGE," and current events (hosted from a conservative perspective). In keeping with the Latin title, I've created a Latin motto: "atramentum cogitabundum advorsum asinum batillum" [which is translated in a footnote buried deep in the archives]

JUST got back from a Bible study being put on by Marv Rosenthal on Daniel. He talked about the EU and what's transpiring in in Copenhagen. He said regardless...it's all coming down to a "one world government"!! Oh..and he did touch on socializm as well.

WSL,
I've been watching this thing in Copenhagen and it does seem to be a step in that direction. I'm not sure if it's a good comparison or not, but it seems like are willingness to give up national sovereignty in these matters is akin to the states giving up state's rights before the Civil War. It seems like what the world wants is a world where USA is neutered and weak. Have you ever noticed that in all the prophecies about the end times there is no mention--not even symbolically-- of America. I don't like to think about that.
I just stopped by to wish you a Merry Christmas.
I hope it isn't true that we are headed toward a one world government. That would be a disaster for mankind. I know the danger exists. It seems to follow a natural course. But there are opposing forces that I hope are strong enough to stave off such a thing. Maybe if we pray in earnest it will not take place.
You know I am a great-grandmother now. I can't believe it. That must make me pretty old. My brother-in-law told me that he always knew I was old. What a smart aleck! :-)
Best wishes to you and your family.
SQ,
A merry Christmas to you, too. And here's to the forces that can stave off these dreaded changes!
I think what has so many Christians interested is that so much of what we don't want to see happen has, in fact, been prophecied (depending on various interpretations, but even those who do not give much credence to the prophecies are pretty amazed at what seems plausible that most people would not have imagined as possible a century ago.
But I agree with you (and so does the prophecy), it would be a disaster. It would seem "perfect" for a few years, but then comes the disaster. I can say this...it ends well for those who trust in the Christ in spite of everything to the contrary.
Congratualations of being a great grandmother. Julie and I will be grandparents for the first time in January. Can't wait!
I have noticed "no mention" of the U.S.!!! I'm in my 2nd study of Daniel in as many years! Actually did the Precepts study last year and now with Marv Rosenthal (a Messianic Jew)---who by the way believes in "pre-Wrath" rather than "pre-Trib" which is interesting! Kinda makes sense to me!
Joel Rosenberg has an interesting hypothesis on how America "could be" 'neutered' in his fictional series. I've kind of taken a sabbatical on reading for a time..mostly due to life-changes (husband's retirement and a 'move' of sorts to FL).
Want to wish you and your family a VERY Blessed Christmas!
Best wishes on the approaching birth in Jan. as well! :-)
